Welcome to Holy Doom.
Holy Doom is the world's first unofficial RRPG (Ridiculous role-playing game). Many know of the Rocket prop--err, Role Playing Game
is (no I'm not talking about the rocket propelled grenade), a game which involves slaying monsters, gaining experience, slaying monsters, getting money, slaying monsters, and... well, that just about covers it. RRPGs are different from RPGs in that they try to not be quite so serious (sorry hard-core players, there aren't 450 pages of rule books anymore). Let's do a side by side comparison:
Role-playing games are for people who have no lives or sense of humor (generally). |
Ridiculous role-playing games are made for people who still have a little bit of humor left, and a lot less time. |
That's pretty much all, though that's a fairly big difference. Role-playing games, ridiculous or otherwise, are games where, instead of following set paths, such as games like Candyland and Sorry!, you collect and equip your own items, go wherever you want, and play in a very big game world available to people who have any sort of imagination. If you don't want to raise a business empire for the 10th time in a row, the same way you did last time in Monopoly, try role-playing games, or better yet, ridiculous ones.
P.S. Wikipedia has a description of an RPG that's 10X better than this one
